I am an artist, weaver, and jewelry maker living in the California Bay Area.

When I started weaving in January 2014, the process felt instantly familiar, like I had done it before at some time in my life in the distant past. Since then, weaving has become an important part of my life and I love connecting with other weavers. I enjoy bringing some of my painting style into my weavings, layering colors and textures and using contrasting geometric forms or organic lines. I also enjoy starting out without any definite plan about what is going to happen, constantly assessing the next steps as I go. I love to use a wide variety of yarns in my weavings, combining a variety of materials, textures, and thicknesses for interesting results.

As a kid, I loved making friendship bracelets from embroidery floss and sharing them with friends. Playing with different color combinations and patterns was endlessly fascinating, I liked the repetition of the knotting and I liked having a portable project always with me. I don't know when I started collecting beads, they just always intrigued me with their endless possibilities and I've been lost wandering in many a bead shop. In my jewelry I love to use vintage beads, especially vintage lucite and glass. I also like to include natural elements such as beads made from seeds and wood and of course stones. I repurpose and upcycle old jewelry for added charm, and I collect stones and beads in my travels wherever I go. I make jewelry that I want to wear, which means it is a bit unusual or unique, artful and beautiful, and always flattering to wear.(In the works: Woven jewelry!)

I made my first painting with acrylics when I was a freshman in high school, and much like weaving, I was hooked right away. Since that time, I've experimented with everything from still life, landscapes and plein air paintings, to figures and portraits, to abstracts. I am drawn to organic shapes and curves, and try to keep them in motion. I use a lot of layering, inviting the eye to travel through and into the painting. For me, painting is all about the process. The rhythm of each painting is created in the process of painting it, and therefore my paintings often convey a lot of movement while also being grounded, solid.
